Rasanya aku sedang melayang
Mungkin akan terbang
Menembus batas kewajaran
Mereka bilang aku pecundang
Santai saja, kawan
Mereka itu bukan Tuhan

IN what can be seen as a figurative tight slap in the face, Telekom Malaysia Bhd, the second largest transnational operator in Southeast Asia has backed the under pressure Digital Nasional Bhd in a decade long deal valued at RM2 billion. READ : Telekom Malaysia supports Digital Nasional Bhd with a RM2 billion deal.
Zahidi Zainul Abidin, the DEPUTY communications minister has a lot to anwser for his recent statement READ : I do not have information on what was discussed between the two ministers and the MCMC chairman.
The pertinent questions that sticks like sore thumb are, we're the Finance Minister, the MCMC chairman and Zahidi Zainul Abidin's SUPERIOR, the then communications minister up to some hanky panky or perhaps it could a question with regards to COMPETENCE.
OFTEN bosses tend not to involve SUBORDINATES, who they feel cannot bring VALUE or CONTRIBUTE.
Zahidi Zainul Abidin in another report was quoted as saying READ : The Rakyat wants to know why DNB and Ericsson have been given a monopoly.
The anwser to that is, is it not obvious on three fronts, namely on cost, duplication and national security front because the alternate to Ericsson would be Huawei, a mainland China company which has been accused by MANY countries from the Czech Republic to Australia and companies of spying, lost court battles with Cisco Systems for STEALING , and most recently READ : Swedish Court upheld a ban against Huawei (HWT.UL) selling 5G equipment in the country.
ARROGANT, as this may sound, the bare truth is, MALAYSIA can afford to lose RM20 billion or even RM40 billion, if Ericsson goes bust, as the DEPUTY Minister had raised hypothetically.
BUT we cannot under ANY circumstances imaginary or otherwise afford to lose our homeland, because this is our MOTHERLAND .
