BUT for some of us, the rights go much deeper than others, as their roots go much deeper and longer than most of us.
IT is safe to say, land owners on the outskirts of Malaysia, who plough the soil to preserve a fading lifestyle, are one of those who have a valid claim over this land.
I am ashamed, appalled and down right angry with how successive so called Malay led Governments have acted in a manner, that can be mildly described as going all out by design to be cruel to the paddy farmers.
IT is not, too far off the radar to suggest that the Government led by Muhyiddin Yassin and Ismail Sabri, have acted in a manner, to keep the Malay farmers poor and at the mercy of politicians.
SHAME on you Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor, for not having the courage to speak out, when more is expected from you, especially since you seem to have the ability to break down in tears, speaking about your yesterday's.
HOW about the today's and tomorrow's, Mr Popular Menteri Besar of Kedah. IF indeed you are a goodmen, then you must speak out for the 50 000 paddy farmers in Kedah.
COURAGE is not the absence of fear, but rather the judgement that something else is more important than fear.
SINCE, Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor doesn't seem to have the courage to tell the true story on how Dr Mahathir, Muhyiddin Yassin, Abdul Hadi Awang and Ismail Sabri have kept the Malay farmers stricken to poverty, I shall do the telling.
BERNAS, the unit controlled by Syed Mokthar seems to have a PHD on how to keep Malay farmers poor, perhaps greatly enhanced by the masterclass he pulled in MARDEC, the rubber equivalent to Bernas, formed 47 years ago to protect half a million small holders but, ended up with the tycoon listing the juicy part of it under his own Tradewinds banner, while the half a million small holders, mostly Malays were given crumbs.
YET for people like Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor and Muhyiddin Yassin, the tycoon with Indian blood and not Arabic nor of Yemeni stock, Syed Mokthar is a hero above all other hero's.
IF not Bernas, then who is the one most responsible in keeping the mostly Malay Muslim farmers, chained to the yoke of poverty.
MEET NAFAS, the National Farmers Organisation, headed by Ismail Sabri, the ninth Prime Minister's brother.
IN any country, which do not have the traits of a failing state or being ridiculed as a Banana state, most of the elders of NAFAS will be sitting in jail now, or the very least ostracized by the civil society.
NAFAS crime are as follows; READ : In 2020, an independent audit by a globa auditl powerhouse, revealed that some RM50 million is missing and and cannot be accounted for by NAFAS.
IF you think RM50 million taking a walk on its own is a red flag, then here is the mother of all red flags for you. READ : NAFAS is still breathing, despite 18,927 bags of padi fertiliser under the Federal Government Padi Fertiliser Scheme (SBPKP) for poor farmers, apparently grew legs of its own and walked on its own to rest at aa business premise in Guar Chempedak, Kedah. The goods were worth a million ringgit but the losses for the farmers is much more than a million ringgit.
FOR the integrity and ethics shown by NAFAS, the organisation, instead of being reprimanded and placed under close police watch, guess what Muhyiddin Yassin and Ismail Sabri did?
IN the spirit of the rich elite brotherhood, this soils self confessed Abah of the nation, Muhyiddin Yassin and then Ismail Sabri decided to give READ: The Nation's entire subsidy allocation for Paddy,, amounting to RM1.5 billion was channeled to NAFAS to manage.
ON top that, some RM262 million extra was given to NAFAS, who against all odds installed Ismail Sabri's brother as the boss. All this from out of the blue.
OF course everyone, who is anyone in the government saw not even the slightest hint of a conflict of Interest, therefore Ismal Sabri decided to READ : launch what would be his third Jihad movement in a span of 18 years, which PKR correctly identified as a desperate measure of a man, with a blunt economic depth.
IF you are curious on what the two other Jihad adventure in the travels of the alleged turtle egg consuming Ismail Sabri, the chronicles begun in
2014 Jihad Against Middle men READ : which nearly triggered a full blown paddy crisis.
TWO years latter, Ismail Sabri would hail his READ: second Jihad adventure to protect Rohingya rights. As we know now in 2023, the Rohingyas have become a sence of extreme irritant to Malaysians .
ANYWAY coming back to NAFAS, led by the brother of Ismail Sabri's own brother. which is swimming in relevance and money.
TO be exact , NAFAS handles 300 per cent more Government money than the RM600 million allocated to Bernas.
GUESS what was NAFAS most immediate contribution to the paddy farmers, to celebrate its sudden good fortune.
NAFAS, which now has a monopoly of its own on the distribution of seeds to farmers, READ : bosses poor farmers by selling bags of seeds with pesticides in fixed quantities, denying farmers the option of purchasing them based on their own requirements and capacities. NAFAS also refuses to say if bad seeds are returnable. On top of that, NAFAS has increased the paddy seed prices upwards to six per cent.
CLEARLY, this is a new burden placed by the so called outwardly Malay agenda political big wigs who think nothing of placing another yoke on the poor farmers.
FARMERS already have to contend with the monopoly held by Bernas, which binds them to sell their output below global rates
ANWAR Ibrahim is their best bet, which the farmers risk losing due to their own attitude
of buying into the wet dreams of Muhyiddin Yassin, Ismail Sabri, and Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor.
THE trio are part of the elite, that has kept Bernas relevant and added a new monopoly to sustain the engineered poverty.
THE paddy farmers should come out in force and strength to engage with the Prime Minister on their current state.
ANWAR Ibrahim has the personal conviction and courage, and resolve, that will definitely heighten if the farmers bolster the Prime Minister's self confidence.
DO that , and it will be now rather than latter for a life changing, wealth changing, and social status changing Renaissance to take place in favour of the paddy farmer.
