Frankly, Mr Prime Minister....

ANWAR Ibrahim told an audience at the World Economic Forum (WEF) Special Meeting in Riyad, Saudi Arabia, that  READ: Malaysia is one of the most peaceful countries in the world, as well as one of the fastest growing economies.

FRANKLY, Mr Prime Minister in my book , Malaysia is indeed one of the most if not the most peaceful country in the world.

THAT being said, if I was an alien outside of Malaysia, frankly Mr Prime Minister, i will have a  hard time figuring our the metrics you had used to define peaceful, as well as among the fastest growing economies in the world.

FRANKLY, Mr Prime Minister, we are not even among the top six fastest READ : fastest growing Economies in the Asia Pacific Region, according to the International monetary Fund.

AMONG the Asia Pacific nations familiar to the western world, that will grow faster than Malaysia in 2024, are India and the Philippines.

FRANKLY Mr Prime Minister, 2024  is a watershed year, which will hurt our ego's and as well as our economic standing in the eyes of the world.

2024, is the year, when the not only self sufficient but net exporter of rice,  Vietnam will emerge  READ : to have a GDP worth USD$469.7 billion as opposed to Malaysia, who imports nearly 40 per cent of our rice needs, will see its economy in 2024 VIEW :  valued at USD$445.52 billion.

FRANKLY Mr Prime Minister, coming back to the question of being one of the most peaceful nations in the world, if I was a foreigner, relying on Google,  below is the search engine's discoveries.

Wahid Omar's reign at Bursa Malaysia, Under Review.

BURSA Malaysia's non executive chairman Wahid Omar's role as public director is being reviewed by the Ministry of Finance.

THE appointment as public director is an appointment which is made directly by the Minister of Finance.

THERE is a strong possibility, that Wahid Omar will have to relinquish his role as non executive chairman of Bursa Malaysia too.

DESPITE being a non executive chairman, Wahid Omar since his appointment in 2020, has a habit of chairing the weekly management meetings, which greatly influence the outcome of those meetings.

UNDER Wahid Omar, READ : Malaysia has been fairing poorly in the public governance category,  while Bursa Malaysia and the Securities Commission's move to pin the blame on the Government has not gone down well wirh the  Ministry of Finance.

UNDER  the Ismail Sabri administration,  there were some political interference on matters concerning Serba Dinamik, but to Anwar Ibrahim's credit he has given enough rope for the top people at Bursa Malaysia and the SC to hang themselves with.

ON paper, corporate governance in Malaysia looks good but when it comes to smaller listed companies, where there is little or no political interference, governance are in serious jeapordy.

MALAYSIA needs to buck up on corporate governance front to attract foreign and private domestic money READ :as the US might not cut interest rates this year, after being forecast to cut rates by as many as 6 times in 2024.

AS it is deposit rates in the USA currently stands at about VIEW :5.5 per cent, while Malaysia's maximum fixed deposit rates are at 3.45 per cent.

MEANING even if the US were to cut interest rates gradually, say from June 2024 it would take up to 18 months, for our deposit rates to become  more attrractive than the rates in USA.

The DAP Cornerstone Is A Shoo In To Be The Weakest Link @ Kuala Kubu Bahru

AS soon as Pang Sock Tao, was announced as the Kuala Kubu Bahru candidate for Pakatan Harapan, I had commented READ : Pakatan Harapan Game Plan Lacks Strategy, and Pang Sock Tao, being an aide of Nga Kor Ming, will not sit well with the Malays.

WHAT i meant by stating that Pakatan Harapan lacks strategy is centered basically on does the ruling coalition truly know who Nga Kor Ming is batting for?

EFFECTIVELY, even before campaign had started, NGA KOR MING's , oddly inexperienced actions , READ had Pakatan Harapan nailed down on ethical issues.

WHY on earth would anyone want to even suspect that NGA KOR MING's actions were done not in the best interest of the DAP?

MY response would be, why on earth, would anyone dismiss such a notion,  especially since Nga Kor Ming is one of the richest members of Parliament, with an income of more than RM100,000 a month, mostly derived from who he is in bed with doing business.

AMONG  those who have done business in which Ng Kor Ming was a director , and in which his expanded family members were dominant stake holders were with the once notorious MCA henchman  Tengku Wong  or better known as Wong Yeon Chai in the deal for Upayapadu Plantation Sdn. Bhd.

THE PAS Government , would latter award more than 10,000 acres of Bumiputra land to this non Bumiputra entity. (I am purposely not putting up the link here, because I want you guys to go read up on the wonderful politician) .

BUT rather let's focus a bit on Tengku Wong and his existence in Jiankun International Bhd, a  company which surprisingly for the past two years have been hoping to build an alternative 5G infrastructure to compete against Digital Nasional Bhd .

LET'S not make it an issue, on DAP being big fans of building a second 5G line by virtue award and not an international spectrum auction which could generate billions for the Government.

LET'S just zoom in since 2020, who either were or are the other interesting  personalities that have ties with Jiankun International besides Kenneth Vun Yun Lun.

DONALD Lim Siang Chai,  during his stint as deputy finance minister , was largely the person responsible for placing so many MCA loyalist in Bursa Malaysia and the Securities Commission, which have been a great comfort to the Corporate Mafia.

TALKING about the Corporate Mafia, let's not forget the guy who was appointed to INIX Bhd board of directors , alongside, the infamous READ: 14k Triad boss of bossesBroken Tooth” Wan Kuok Koi,

YES, this is the same guy caught on photo sitting happily with Muhyiddin Yassin and Hamzah Zainuddin's money raising fiesta just before GE15.

HARAPAN ; Too Little , Too Late

TWO weeks ago, the Malaysian media would have you believe that READ : Pakatan Harapan will win in Kuala Kubu Bahru, with a 4,000 majority.

I however, had opined differently, on the basis of a lack of leadership, a lack of political strategy a double speak in communications, and the non Chinese people's dislike for Nga Kor Meng, makes Perikatan Nasional the favourites to win this by election.

SINCE then, the mass media too seems to have a change of heart, with Malaysiakini stating READ : PN in the driver's seat to give PH a bloody nose at Kuala Kubu Bahru while Free Malaysia Today is reporting VIEW : Nga KO Meng is going to cost the DAP the Kuala Kubu Bharu seat.

I would just like to point out , one bit which Malaysiakini missed out, which is actually the root cause of the Tamil people of the Hindu faith had actually started to move away from Pakatan Harapan.

SOME may call it childish, but the real reason which kick started all the other factors of the Indian dissatisfaction has its roots in VIEW :Anwar Ibrahim missing the Deepavali celebrations for the OIC meeting to discuss the Hamas/Israeli issue.

I might be wrong on the following facts, but as far as I can recall, never in the history of Malaysia, has the Prime Minister not been in the country during Hari Raya, Chinese New Year, Christmas or Deepavali celebrations.

I doubt many would recall, but back in February 2023, I  had written READ : HARAPAN will lose big in the Selangor state elections, if it did not approve a new EPF withdrawal scheme.

THE  Unity Government, stuck with its guns on not allowing any EPF withdrawal scheme and ended up nearly losing its underwear in Selangor to Perikatan National.

THIS time, however there is a no questions asked EPF withdrawal scheme , called the account three, but I believe that the current scheme has come in at the wrong time and on strategy wise it's going to place the Unity Government in a very defensive place.

PEOPLE are bound to ask this simple, if the economy is doing so well like how Rafizi Ramli and Fahmi Fadzil claim they are, then why is there a need now for a new EPF scheme?

IT doesn't make sense, and communication wise, the perception build up closer to polling day will be the Government of the day is not being honest with us.

I said it, now Muhyiddin Yassin echoes it, makes peace with UMNO's Zahid Hamidi.

THE Malaysian political wheels are now officially in the spin, and there's no telling  who that its NAMING.

WILL the first one now, latter be the last ?, only time will tell but if history is a reliable character witness, then he that gets hurt, will be the one who has stalled.

THE core team includes Fahmi Fadzil, Rafizi Ramli and Muhamad Sabu, among others.

IN a move that it bound to oscallate suspicious minds, in a Facebook posting written an hour ago, READ : Muhyiddin Yassin wrote for the sake of Malaysia, he and Zahid Hamidi, the UMNO President and current Deputy Prime have agreed to bury their legal hachet.

IN the Malaysian politics of today, there is no line drawn in stone..  that curse, it is CAST

Pakatan Harapan Walking On Thin Ice

PAKATAN Harapan, the dominant party in the existing Government, has a death wish : the desire to self destruct.

THROUGH out this week, what has been coming out from team Pakatan Harapan is that they do not know how to govern and their techniques are out dated

THIS not coming from those against Pakatan Harapan but rather via it's own leadership in the public space, albeit sub consciously.

WITH a statement like with us realising it, by  economic minister, certainly is a confidence breaker, as much as it validates what  businesses  has been saying. READ : Rafizi has done nothing concrete to improve economy, says employers federation.

RAFIZI Ramli's narrative that getting Government funds to use tax payers money to buy shares on Bursa Malaysia, which foreigners no longer want is so outdated, that it makes Pakatan Harapan look like a partner, the public can afford to trust.

THE minimal truth should have been, the economy is not very great but rather it is not very bad either .

AND then we have the  DAP, which could have shed it's skin off , from the perception  that it remains a Chinese centric chauvinist party by nominating a non Chinese party for the Kuala Kubu Baru by election.

INSTEAD,  what the DAP has done, one suspect on purpose was to nominate READ : Pang Sock Tao, the press secretary of Nga Kor Mingwhen , the party is aware the Nga Kor Ming  brand name is very low and not liked among Malays, which covers  up to 50 per cent of the voter base.

BASICALLY,  the DAP has intentionally placed a candidate  that it knows will not win in the Kuala Kubu Baru by election.

AS  a unit, Pakatan Harapan looks like a team without a strategist and a game plan. Team Pakatan Harapan, seems to have the mindset of a teenager, failing to realise, there will be consequences if Muhyiddin Yassin and Abdul Hadi Awang get back into power.

BOTH have seen their respective son in laws, being actively pursued by the MACC
