MOST of us, may never have heard this wankers name or even have a second to Google up on how Zakaria Shaaban even looks like.
I bet you definitely want to know a lot more about Zakaria Shaaban and how competent this guy must be, when you consider the statement made by the MCW president that 90 per cent of the immigration officers at KLIA are corrupt.
AM I agreeing with the statement made by the MCW president? I honestly don't know what to think, considering READ : that Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim had told the nation, back in July 2023 that only a small group of immigration officers at KLIA are problematic.
SO which is which? Is corruption at KLIA among immigration officers confined to a small corrupt or 90 per cent of them are living on bung money?
WHAT do I know then, to even consider writing about the department headed by Zakaria Shaaban?
I know two things. ONE, many Malaysians including UMNO Youth head Muhammad Akmal Saleh should be ashamed of themselves and immediately offer their apologies to READ : Tiong King Sing, our tourism minister for exposing the culture of corruption among immigration officers at KLIA.
SECONDLY, why are we not charging in court corrupt and non corrupt public officials who are aware of corruption in their respective departments for remaining silent, when the law states clearly it's a criminal offence if you do not report such acts.
AS early as 2017, the MACC had promised Malaysia and her citizens that the agency will READ : Section 25 (1) and (2) of the MACC Act 2009, which comes with a ten year jail term for public servants who have knowledge of corrupt activities buy choose to remain silent.
HOW silent have they been ? Well from READ: 2011 to 2020, only 16,000 civil servants from the 1.6 million strong civil service had gone on record to report corrupt practise to help save our country
