More than 10,000 taxi drivers have thrown in the white towel, despite massive discounts offered by cab firms.
Looks like the taxi drivers cannot compete with the pricing of UBER and GRAB.
Taxi drivers now have to pay as low as RM40 a day in rental, compare that to the free RM25 given to UBER and GRAB drivers, who hit the road during peak time.
