KPMG & The Edge. The Writting On The Wall.

Is the first single from Iron Maiden after a six years hiatus.  The song was released on July 15 this year, and has been averaging close to about one million views per day on You Tube.

The lyrics are fantastic. Here is a peek ;
A tide of change is coming and that is what you fear
The earthquake is a coming but you don’t want to hear
You’re just too blind to see

Have you seen the writing on the wall
Have you seen that writing
Can you see the riders on the storm
Can you see them riding
Can you see them riding. . . Riding next to you.

And with that let's get down to business on why the writting is on the wall for both the Edge, which broke the supposedly audit fraud in Serba Dinamik and KPMG.

For an investigative journalist smart enough to uncover the Serba Dinamik story, I am STUMPED that the Edge was STUMPED "Many following the press conference were stumped, and left trying to recall the last time a lawyer questioned an audit firm’s work."

You can read the Edge story HERE.  I am STUMPED because the last time which I can recall a lawyer question an audit firm's work was on May 2021. READ ; KPMG sued for £6m by property company Mount Anvil

I was and still STUMPED that the Edge would write something like this : "And KPMG is not just any audit firm; it is one of the Big Four accounting firms with offices in some 150 countries and over 227,000 employees worldwide.".

Is this first class financial journalism at its best or a third rated hit job on Serba Dinamik which is about to blow out in the open soon as the writting has been on the wall for the KPMG brandname across the world for some time now. READ ;

Mind you, especially to those at EPF and bondholders there are precedence to that too.

KPMG, ZAFRUL, TONY PUA. Eh

by the very versatile ,  and still evolving hard core Arsenal supporter Zizi Kirana who not only sings well but is an effective communicator. .
Eh is a wonderful single,  that in my opinion describes Tony Pua as he is.

kecam sampai lebam
Kita kecam (kecam) kecam sampai lebam
Kita kutuk (kutuk-kutuk) kutuk sampai besok
Kita kutuk (kutuk) kutuk sampai besok (hey!)

Sakit hati semua nak luah
Banyak sudu sampai tak cukup kuah
Hati hitam boleh tutup dengan jubah
Kecam orang lain sendiri taknak ubah

I am on two minds  on Tony Pua 's statement  that KPMG should be dropped  until the court decides if the Audit firm  is innocent or guilty in the 1MDB scheme of things. READ ; DROP KPMG

 Tony Pua  comes out superficial and shallow for two reason, namely  I am not clear why the Government is suing KPMG.

Secondly, Pua who is a known buddy of KJ,  once held a very important role in the finance ministry. Why is it during his stay in power nothing  much was done  to bring  KPMG to court?

Tony Pua  is of course a guy who is  in the mudah lupa category, READ ; In his hour of need, I gave him 100k. Now he says I am a nobody

The common enemy in the room is Tony Pua and the government are not communicating effectively, so that every Tom, Dick and Harry , like me, who are not so sharp are able to understand why the Government is suing KPMG

Is KPMG being sued  because they are bad auditors? or perhaps they were just lazy auditors  who took the then MOF word as the truth without  cross checking the validity of the information.

Or is  KPMG being sued by the government  for something more  sinister?  To find out, do read Azham Md Ali of Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) research work that was published on Feb 2016 in the journal of Public Administration  and Governance . READ ; 1MDB, THE AUDIT FIRMS QUESTION

Going through Azham's  working paper is like reading a thriller novel, as his grasp of the subject  coupled with a gift to write,  makes a tantalizing  read  ;

Letter of Agreement to purchase shares – all okay, except Auditors want a change in  clause 5.9. Conceptually, they say that they will only clear the audit if the „proportionate  reduce [sic] in guarantee‟ is satisfied by either a „proportionate conversion of the shares‟  or payment in „cash‟. Attached is the draft which they had proposed which I have not sent to our lawyers as it is better that you deal with it.

Compare the statement above with the  Statement from KPMG in Malaysia

Kuala Lumpur, 26 June 2018 – KPMG Malaysia were the statutory auditors of 1Malaysia Development Berhad (“1MDB”) and issued audit reports on the financial statements for the years ended 31 March 2010 to 31 March 2012. On 31 December 2013, during the audit of the financial statements for the year ended 31 March 2013, the firm’s appointment as auditors was terminated and the firm did not have access to information related to 1MDB subsequent to that date.

The government of the day,  especially  the finance minister Tengku Zafrul   can you please speak in a language normal people can understand. Tell us why  the government is suing  KPMG.

1.  Are you are suing KPMG,  coz they were lazy auditors.   Then I  do not agree with Pua, that the Government should ensure that until the case is resolved  KPMG should  not audit Petronas or  other GLC.

My reason is simple give them a second  chance lah and being lazy is not a crime..

2. Are  you are suing KPMG  for conspiring and abetting in the fraud that took place in 1MDB.

I fully agree with Pua and  I do believe that the Petronas chairman  has no option but to immediately  distance  itself from KPMG

SEMBELiH

by Blvckmind Squad.  Sembelih  makes perfect sence to Malaysians that are not blessed with a kitchen full of food, mounting debts kitchen, job loss and having to  dig into their EPF savings.

Malaysians will survive, though we are flawed we are a great people. So great,  that we as a nation don't act in disbelieve  the statement made by Takiyuddin Hassan.

Takiyuddin Hassan, of PAS has called Malaysians to emulate the spirit of the World War 2 battle in stalingrad. READ ;thanks to a partnership between the Russian Academy of Sciences and the German Historical Institute in Moscow, led by Rutgers historian Jochen Hellbeck. The story those interviews tell is one of heroism, dedication, and staggering self-sacrifice, but they also recount hunger, devastation, and mismanagement by the political and military authorities. That was the real story of the war;

Strange man indeed when history tells us, the battle killed more Russians than the the total number of fallen Americans during the entire World War 2 and there was political mismanagement.

That however does not change the importance of the battle. Daily I see Malaysians, going an extra yard to help their fellow citizens walk through this Tsunami of a crisis.

We have become magnanimous  in these dark hour, a trait history will tell you made Saladin stand above all the kings in the mideval 12 century READ ; Revered by: The Muslim world, especially his fellow Sunnis. But he was also greatly respected by his sworn enemies, the crusaders, who, it’s said, regarded him as highly as their own leaders.

If you do not know who is Saladin, just ask any PAS member. They will tell you, this was a king who unified his people, gave them back their dignity and when the occasion called for war..he led them from the front.

More than the above, Saladin to even his worst enemies showed that class is permanent, form is temporary. To be loved,  respected and always kindly remembered, one needs to be magnimous.

Enough said. Let the boys from Blvckmind Squad wax the lyrics;

Kau minta kuasa,
kau asal boleh
Kaki melangkah,
kau takde toleh-toleh
Acah-acah soleh,
kata orang kau lebih
Habis semua orang kau sembelih,
sembelih.

Tik Tok. Run This Town

is the only Jay Z song which I like.  Must say , had a lot of help from Rihanna and Kayne West in helping the single to top the charts and win the best rap song award at 52 Grammys..

Having gone through the comments on Serba Dinamik, I must say that most  have missed the elephant sitting in the room.

Talk with your brokers and they will tell you that there  are a lot of day traders in the stock.  What do day traders look for company accounts? Hell no,  they look out for stocks with momentum.

The rise of Gameshop, the Robin Hood trading platform and Reddit,  opened up a new dimension, where by the day traders ( some of them are really big and trade on zero commission), alongside the new retail entrance to the market realized  something else ; MEME STOCKS

READ

Those keenly invested in the market may well be aware of all this... but some how most have missed the one application which has changed the way day trading is influenced these days. TIK TOK  the world's most down loaded non gaming app, has reshaped the trading game, without altering the rules which is based on momentum.

Our regulators are about half a decade late. They only now beginning to look at information transmitted via Telegram, when the new generation of investors have already moved to Tik Tok.

You don't have to take my word on this. You  can group NST, STAR and Edge together on a media campaign,  which may cost you a bundle, yet they will not have the punch, speed  or influence of Tik Tok in the trading world.

And with that, I hope people who believe that their two cents are much more worthy then others on all the old and getting obsolete  on line tools, I do hope they are now able to draw a line between motives of a day trader, fundamentals and momentum.

Also, do wake up lah, coz Tik Tok Runs This Town ;

My whole team got dough
So my banquette is looking like millionaires' row
Life's a game but it's not fair
I break the rules so I don't care (what's up?)
So I keep doin' my own thing
Walkin' tall against the rain
Victory's within the mile (what's up?)
Almost there, don't give up now
Only thing that's on my mind
Is who gon' run this town

Long Time Ago When We Were FAB

was a top 40 hit on both sides of the Atlantic in1988  for George Harrison. It is regarded, as the Beatles lead guitarist best and most popular song, storying, on the days long gone when the Liverpool band was known  as the Fab Four.

Long time ago we fab, and the sadest part is we do not have to go to the 1980's,  when volume on KLSE was even higher than the Dow Jones and we were toasted as the Tiger economy of Asia,  the country to watch, coz great things were in store.

As late as 2017, we were still considered to be the best in the business. READFrom India To Indonesia, These Are Asia's 5 Best Countries For Foreign Investors.

.Najib Razak, will go down in history, as the man who could have been the best PM of Msia, safe for 1MDB.
The guy opened up the economy and because of that companies  such as GRAB and FoodPanda are able to operate without shareholding limitations.

So where did it go wrong?  A Chinese proverb  puts it diplomatically that the fish rots from the head on wards.  Yes we all slacked at most level, clinging on to still being among the top 30 important trading nation,  but Vietnam has pushed us aside to the fringes.

Vietnam has a population of 100 million, once among the poorest nation in the world. Today, it's economy is larger than ours, their factories still running and total Covid cases less than 43,000 .

Back then long time ago when grass was green
Woke up in a daze
Arrived like stangers in the night
Fab - long time ago when we was fab
Fab - back when income tax was all we had

Yup,  Fab - long time ago when we was fab, . We have a stock market which according to Koon Yew Yin is not going to go any where soon. Read ; Investors might be tempted to buy stocks which are on cheap sale. They will remain cheap for a long time, until they can report increased profit. Due to MCO, all listed companies will not be able to report increased profit in the next few quarters.. And we have people carrying all sorts of flag as a cry for help..

This should not be the case. We are much better than that. Until today it is our country men who are building Singapore. READ ; As of 2000, 46% of the Malaysian diaspora reside in Singapore and actually make up 45% of Singapore’s resident immigrant population.

 We have the smarts at mid and below level. The 70 who lead are way to many and the quality is beyond believe.

We as a nation and a people ARE FAB, which is why we we can question intelligently and brilliantly . Having a good PR is a great weapon...but it can take one only so far. Read ; Ex-health DG slams ‘toothless tiger’ Noor Hisham for not putting foot down in govt’s virus handling

Sin Chew : Serba Dinamik. Holding Out for a HERO

by Bonnie Tyler.  The song would first appear on the soundtrack of ‘Footloose’ in 1984, but flopped on its initial release in the UK.

It finally hit the top ten in the UK in 1985 when it was used as the theme tune to the short lived American detective series ‘Cover Up’.

“Where have all the good men gone,
and where are all the gods?”

I need a hero
I'm holding out for a hero 'til the end of the night
He's gotta be strong and he's gotta be fast
And he's gotta be fresh from the fight
I need a hero
I'm holding out for a hero 'til the morning light
He's gotta be sure and it's gotta be soon
And he's gotta be larger than life, larger than life.

This could be the moment we break through
This could be the start of something new This could be the moment we break through
