WHO runs this town? Madani or ESG

THE politican in.,Anwar Ibrahim will want you to believe  that it is the Corporate MADANI frame work which is winning this war, but the money men will tell you that there is no war going on,  about who runs this town called Malaysia 

NO war, because money is running from all fronts into ESG, while investments needed to change Corporate Madnii into  quantifiable  science that  can be measured and valued are muted at best.

THERE.are plenty of reason why ESG has over shadowed Corporate Madani. For one you need  to be ESG compliant in order to do business in europe.

ALSO,  ESG  has a wide rang legislative bite, to force compliance if need be. 

READ ; The updated Malaysian Code of Corporate Governance (“MCCG“) recognises that sustainability and its underlying environmental, social as well as governance (“ESG“) issues are becoming increasingly material to the ability of companies to create durable and sustainable value for their stakeholders.

CONSIDER this, the nation's soverign wealthfund, Khazanah Nasional READ ; :has allocated some RM150 million just to promote sustainable projects,  

WHILE READ : In Malaysia, ESG reporting has been mandatory for all public listed companies since 2016, making it one of the first countries to introduce this kind of disclosure requirement.

AGAINST such a landscape, it will an upheal task for Corporate Madani to compete. The strenght  of MADANI is that the framework can compliment ESG and in somecase even improve ESG.

ALL that is left now is tor the Prime Minister to have the political will to rebrand Corporate Madani into ESG Madani, an economic vision and mission to  set up the meet all the matrix, Vision 2020 , may have aspired to but failed to do so.
