Looking back, Malaysia missed a golden window of opportunity some 18 months back even though we were blessed with a wise king and a Prime Minister who had foresight.
The wise king asked the 93 year old, Tun Dr Mahathir to stay on as Prime Minister, but the man who once saved his people from the horrors of the 1997 financial crisis would only do so if he could pick the best Malaysians to face the coming Covid 19 pandemic head on.
An ungrateful
nation turned our backs on him. Yes he may have betrayed Anwar Ibrahim, but so what, if in the process, lives and livelihoods were saved?
Today, those from Ismail Sabri's own party are calling for such unity amidst in a less radical manner.
