was a global hit way back in 1983, and helped cement Duran Duran's status as the IT band of the early 1980's. The 1983 album seven and the ragged tiger,  would mark the first time, a Duran Duran album peaked at number one on both sides of the Atlantic.

ON hindsight,   what Duran Duran was to the early 1980's pop,  China's dredgers were exactly the same to the dredging community during the 2013/ 2015 period.

SUCH was the might  of China's dredgers that  up to 2013/2015 :

1. China had reclaimed 17 times more land in 20 months than the other claimants combined over the past 40 years, accounting for approximately 95 percent of all reclaimed land in the Spratlys.

2. Since China’s land reclamation efforts began in December 2013, it had reclaimed more than 2,900 acres (1,170 hectares) of land as of June 2015. This is a feat unrivaled in the history of mankind .

CLEARLY,  China was the ALPHA MALE in the South China Sea,  through which USD 5 trillion in ship-borne trade passes every year.

ALL thanks to the might and speed of its dredgers.

BACK HOME ,  in PETALING JAYA, sometime in  2014, . a group of  grown men fitted with coat &  suits,  just got their ego's bruised.

MALAYSIA's unsung hero INAI KIARA had upset the apple cart,  beat the odds and won on merit against the China led juggernaut  to secure a  lucrative sea works and reclamation  job at Kuantan Port, an area where the China investments ran big and heavy to the tune of billions.

MAY GOD BLESS,  WHOEVER who made that decision  as we FAST FORWARD TO THE YEAR 2021.

EMBARRASSING  reports emerge that the China dredgers are not so amazing after all.  Yes,  they have speed,  but unlike the structures built by Inai Kiara in and around Malaysia's maritime borders,  which are still standing,  the dream the China dredgers have build are  SINKING.  

VIEW : China's man made island are falling apart and sinking into the ocean.

BUT back in 2014, the Inai Kiara victory came as a shock to the Duran Duran of Dredging and to their Malaysian minnions.

This was a big mistake
There's a fine line drawing

If I listen close I can hear them singers,
Voices in your body coming through on the radio
The union of the snake 

INAI KIARA,  will soon learn that the price of victory is imminent DEFEAT.
